Client Overview

JadeBlue is a premium Indian menswear retailer serving customers through its digital storefront and more than 80 stores across 40+ cities. Its portfolio includes formal wear, casual wear, occasion wear, ethnic clothing, fabrics, accessories and bespoke tailoring.

TL;DR
  • JadeBlue worked with Lucent Innovation to migrate its ecommerce store from Magento to Shopify and create a more flexible shopping and store-management experience.
  • The project covered catalogue, customer and order data migration, a redesigned Shopify storefront, custom shopping features and integrations for COD processing, inventory operations, order tracking and post-purchase communication.

Challenges

JadeBlue's Magento store required regular technical involvement to maintain the storefront, introduce new features and support integrations. Changes that should have helped the ecommerce team respond quickly to campaigns or customer needs often required additional development work.

Storefront performance was another concern, particularly when traffic increased. Slow page loading and an inconsistent mobile experience created friction while customers browsed products, checked size information or moved towards checkout.

The platform also had to support requirements common to a large Indian fashion retailer. Customers needed clear size guidance, quick account access, PIN-code-based delivery information and visibility after placing an order.

Behind the storefront, JadeBlue's team needed inventory, payment, COD, return, refund and order information to move reliably between different systems.

The main requirements included

  • Moving catalogue, customer and historical order data from Magento to Shopify.
  • Rebuilding the storefront around JadeBlue's premium brand identity.
  • Improving mobile browsing and product discovery.
  • Supporting OTP login and PIN-code-based delivery information.
  • Connecting COD, return, refund, inventory and tracking workflows.
  • Giving customers clearer post-purchase communication through WhatsApp and email.

Solution

Lucent Innovation approached the project as a complete ecommerce migration rather than a direct platform transfer. The work covered data migration, storefront development, customer journeys and the operational integrations needed after an order was placed.

The first stage focused on moving JadeBlue's products, collections, customer records and order history from Magento into Shopify. Matrixify and Shopify's APIs were used to structure and transfer the available data into the new platform, followed by checks to confirm that important catalogue and order information appeared correctly in Shopify.

Our team then rebuilt the storefront using Shopify Liquid, JavaScript and GraphQL. The new experience was designed to reflect JadeBlue's fashion positioning while making it easier for customers to browse collections and access the information needed before purchasing.

The migration formed part of our broader Magento-to-Shopify migration services, where we combine data planning, storefront development, integrations and launch support instead of treating migration as a simple export-and-import exercise.

Several customer-facing features were introduced as part of the new Shopify experience

  • Custom size charts helped customers review relevant measurements before selecting a product.
  • Improved search and product discovery made it easier to navigate the catalogue.
  • Wishlist functionality allowed shoppers to save products for later.
  • OTP-based login simplified account access without relying only on passwords.
  • PIN-code-based information helped customers check delivery availability for their location.
  • Back-in-stock notifications gave customers a way to follow unavailable products.

The project also addressed the operational journey behind each purchase. GoKwik was connected to support payment, discount, COD and related return or refund workflows.

Order-tracking functionality gave customers clearer visibility after checkout, while WhatsApp and email integrations supported timely post-purchase communication.

Inventory and store-operation workflows were also connected with Shopify so that product availability and order information could move through a more coordinated setup. This reduced the need to manage customer, order and inventory activities as disconnected parts of the ecommerce operation.

The result was not simply a new Shopify theme. JadeBlue gained a modern storefront supported by connected workflows for browsing, account access, payments, delivery, inventory, tracking and customer communication.

Future Scalability

JadeBlue's Shopify foundation can support new collections, customer-experience features and operational integrations without rebuilding the core storefront each time the business introduces a new requirement. The existing setup can also be extended with more personalized shopping journeys, deeper inventory coordination, additional customer communication workflows and mobile commerce experiences. These improvements can be introduced progressively while keeping Shopify at the centre of catalogue, order and storefront management.
